Zach Anner: He’s Our Man!

What do Oprah, the creator of “Survivor” Mark Burnett, and musician John Mayer have in common?…the Giggles!

Comedian Zach Anner, a self-proclaimed (and probably rightly so) “wheelchair-bound lady magnet” with cerebral palsy, may be able to claim the title of “The Next Oprah.”

Anner submitted a video to an Oprah-sponsored contest called “Your Own Show,” a talent search produced by Oprah and Mark Burnett. Contestants were asked to submit a video of their talk-show host talents and a pitch for a potential show to air on Oprah’s new network, OWN. You can watch Anner’s two-and-a-half minute video here, but we warn you, you may get a stitch in your side from laughing so hard. And we’ve checked, most insurance policies don’t cover SIYSS (Stitches In Your Side Syndrome). While SIYSS has not been proven to be fatal, it has led to department-wide cases of mass hysteria, so a Surgeon General’s Warning does apply.

Anner’s video received over 205 million votes in less than a week–nearly double that of his closest competition.

Contestants were to submit videos in one of five categories: Traditional Talk Show, Cooking, Interior Design or Fashion, Health & Well-Being, or Wildcard.

After uploading his video to YouTube, Anner’s video quickly went viral, grabbing the attention of internet junkie, John Mayer, who poster Anner’s video on his Tumblr blog, saying “I would love to see a show by this kid.”

In response to the outpouring of love, Anner posted another video to YouTube thanking the Internet and Mayer, saying “I know my body is a wonderland, but I don’t know why he’d be interested in me!”
